Murray Hire has been providing exceptional service, quality and satisfaction to thousand of customers since its creation in August 1982, 30 years ago. They have a vast range of safety wear products to purchase and tools of nearly every description to hire out for trade and DIY enthusiasts.

They can also provide you with IPAF and PASMA training. If there is a tool you are looking to hire but they do not have it, chances are they might not be able to get it or it does not exist. Their experience staff has over 150 years combined experience in the hire trade.
How the business came to be
John and Ann Murray moved from London to Yate to try and make a better life for themselves and their two children, Mandy and Ian.

The opportunity arose because a Bristol hire company wanted John to work for them, and employed Ann to do the Accounts.

As time went on they both thought, why not try going into Business for themselves, with the experience that they both had, many years in London and Bristol, they should go for it, and thats how Murray Hire Centres was formed way back in 1982.

Their first Unit was on the Beeches Trading Estate off Stover Road, Yate, where they formed a nice liason with our customers, and soon got their regulars coming in for a chat and a cup of coffee. As well any friendly advice they asked for about any job, big or small.

Everyone is welcome, accounts or D.I.Y's, they are only too happy to help out.

About eight years on, they found that they were running out of space, so they had to make the decision to get bigger premises, they were able to purchase a piece of land on Armstrong Way, Yate on which to build a Unit . Unfortunately, it was another two years before they got the planning permission they desperately needed, but big celebrations when we got it.

Their business is a family concern employing son Ian, daughter Mandy, son-in-law Keith and daughter-in-law Elaine,who ,with the good and hard working members of staff keep it all going. Working together to keep a happy, friendly and helpful team. Making it one big happy family.
